Bereavement
All those who have ever been to our Hejce camp will be greatly saddened to hear of the sudden and unexpected homecall of Jan Victor, son of Rev Istvan and Mrs Judi Victor (Papa and Mama) on 12th August 2009 at the age of 46. Like some of us Jan broke away from the church in his younger days but was later effectually called by our merciful God and thereafter trained and qualified as a minister of the Hungarian Reformed Church. At the time of his death Jan was about to depart with a mission team to serve his Lord in India. God`s providence is sometimes difficult and even impossible for us to understand "until the day breaks and the shadows flee away". The writer of the following poem understood this.
Not till the loom is silent and the shuttles cease to fly,
Will God unroll the canvas and reveal the reason why,
The dark threads are as needful in the weaver`s skilful hand,
As the threads of gold and silver in the pattern He has planned.
Jan leaves a widow and six children. Our prayer is that the God of all comfort will uphold them in this hour of need.
