The 2008 camp at Hódmezővásárhely
We had 50 campers for the week at the camp in Hódmezővásárhely this year. It was great to see many new people who made the camp their own. I suppose in the 19 years of the camp’s history there must have been many changes with no two years being the same.
The good news about Jesus does not change and this year we looked at some of Jesus’ parables in the classes and thought about some basic Christian questions in the evenings. It was really encouraging to the leaders, that the campers had so many questions this year. In the evenings we had many of the old favourite activities: a concert with material from each class; the bilingual quiz – with some incredible Hungarian singing from the UK team; a film; a ceilidh; and some nights where we just chilled out, drank tea, sang songs and enjoyed each others’ company.
We’d like to say a big "thank you" to all the people from the local church who gave us food and welcomed us in such a friendly way.
