The 2009 camp at Hódmezővásárhely
2009 was the 19th year at Hódmezővásárhely. We had a great if busy time and enjoyed being back at the Bethlen Gábor school for classes and the cool and tasty Fekete Sas restaurant for lunch. We also had some church services and even a baptism at the Old Church and the same building also hosted a classical concert, which was something new this year. It was good to meet old faces and new faces we hope many will return to make 2010 at least as special as 2009. Particular favourite activities were swimming and ice-cream (and more swimming and more ice cream). At the hostel we had games, and the legendary concert. This year's Bible topic was the I Am sayings and Tamás a new leader from Budapest took the Hungarian talks. There was lots of thought-provoking stuff and lots to talk about and people did late at night round the fire or on the long hike back from Márthely for those who wanted the exercise and the late night fun.
2010 will be the 20th anniversary of the camp at Hódmezővásárhely. I'm told that for weddings the traditional gift for 20 years is china. It promises to be a smashing camp.
We’d like to say a big "thank you" again to all the people from the local church who gave us food and welcomed us in such a friendly way.
