Mahanaim 2007

"I really enjoyed this year's camp - the atmosphere at Mahanaim was as ever, relaxed and tranquil, as well as being a lot of fun. It was hot this year too, very hot, which made for regular trips to the lake and stream - we even had our final British team meeting sitting in the stream (accompanied by a good compliment of the little fresh water lobsters/cray-fish).

 a walk into the mountains

There were 35 campers in all, which split nicely into class sizes of about seven each; it was great to see about half of them back from last year too. Mornings were generally spent on the English lessons and Bible teaching, whilst afternoons comprised of things like hiking, swimming and trying (as usual with little success) to teach the natives the rules of cricket.

The Mahanaim campsite has no electricity and so each evening we have a campfire program. This was my favourite part of the day - we all sat round the fire for a mixture of singing, testimonies, stories, singing, teaching, dramas and more singing......

I've put a couple of my photos from the 2007 camp on this page, and going through them all makes me already excited about the 2008 camp. I'm counting down the days....."
